Tired

Wow, ALA has been a whirlwind so far -- and mostly because I spent all of today at the exhibits and my arm feels like its going to fall off and my hips hurt from too many heavy bookbags.  I must say -- librarians are a feisty bunch.  Especially when it comes to the free advance readers' copies of books in the publishers' booths.  I've never seen grown people dive for something so fast as a librarian on top of that free book!
I haven't been to too many conference programs -- 2 today and 1 yesterday.  Don't think I will manage to get to any tomorrow either as I have to leave rather early since my flight leaves O'Hare at 1:15pm.  The program I attended this morning was excellent reinforcement -- "Redesigning Technical Service Workflows" -- and it strengthened my feeling that we need to do a lot of retooling in T.S.  Whether this mean doing away with procedures or integrating responsibilities, I'm not sure. Just some first thoughts
