Arriving home after eight days away, I was pleasantly surprised by my garden's abundant crop:
Spinach galore, three heads of broccoli, several green bell peppers and ripe lush eggplant. It makes my little vegetarian mouth water at the sight.
My only disappointment is the sad state of the sugar snap peas -- I think it might be too late in the season for them and I have way too many plants for the amount of space provided.
This is our first year with a vegetable garden. I've had lots of experience with flowers; when I lived in Rochester, I owned a home in the city where I dug up all the grass in the front yard, tilled it and planted flowers. It was amazing and a lot of hard work, but I loved it.
Whenever I think about everything on my to-do list and how much time its going to take, I think about my garden and the end result.
This all looks fantastic! I can't wait until I too can learn the joys and pleasures of gardening.
Was it hard to get the broccoli and the bok choy? They just look difficult to me...
